Naked Mole Rats

I found this poem on a napkin, written circa 2000? After a zoo visit:

Exploited, on display for Chicago to see
the miniscule glass windows through which to peep
Hairless, pathetic little creatures did crawl
stumbling and pushing forward as if in Hell
As families, especially children, laugh at their plight
conditioned to think that it’s only a zoo
normally I admit, I felt just the same
Yet upon sight of these persecuted babies,
I was ashamed.
